Singer-songwriter Jamie Thomas announces the release of his highly anticipated single "Haunting" on September 15th, 2023. The single, produced and mastered by the highly talented producer ERAH, is a unique blend of retro R&B with modern production techniques.
According to Jamie, "Haunting" is a highly personal song that explores the complexities of relationships. "This song is about looking back on past relationships and realizing how the memories can be both beautiful and haunting at the same time," Jamie explains. "I hope that this song resonates with listeners and helps them to reflect on their own experiences."
The overall vibe of the song is R&B, with highly produced Anderson Paak-like vocals and high emotional pitches that are sure to resonate with fans. While previous posts and performances may suggest that he appeals mainly to fans of acoustic music, "Haunting" showcases a different side of his musical style. ‘I hope that this new single will bring a new level of appeal of retro music from the past with current up-to-date production techniques, and I can't wait for listeners to experience it!’
The accompanying music video was shot in Berlin by a team of talented young video producers, led by Benjamin Wagenfuhrer. The video was filmed at different locations in Berlin, including the old Tempelhof airport, inner city vibe and a 70s-style bar. The video features actors portraying a couple who are fighting and making up while watching Jamie's performance on an old TV set.
Jamie is excited to share his latest single and music video, "Haunting," to his audience and believes that the new single and music video will reach listeners of all ages. STORY
Hi there, I'm Jamie Thomas, a singer-songwriter born in London, raised between England and the Netherlands, and currently living in Rotterdam with my family. Music has been a big part of my life since I was a kid, influenced by a mixture of gospel, rock, and pop music.
But it wasn't until I moved to the Netherlands and met friends from Suriname and Curacao that I was introduced to soul, R&B, and hip hop music, I started making my own demos and performing on local talent shows and eventually signed my first record deal.
I've had a long and winding journey in the music industry which started with a small record deal, but it quickly led to more opportunities and even a contract with the prestigious Warner Music London. I've had the privilege of touring with renowned artists like Justin Timberlake, and performing at iconic venues like London Wembley, as well as in other countries in Europe and the US.
My music is a blend of pop, R&B, soul, and folk, but with a focus on staying true to my own style while still keeping an open mind to what younger crowds and talented musicians are doing.
My influences are constantly changing, but some of my biggest heroes are Quincy Jones and other male singers like Luther Vandross, Ronald Isley, Sam Smith and Bruno Mars. I also enjoy melancholic Indie bands like The National, The 1975 and Bon Iver, and plan on incorporating that into my upcoming album.
I've had the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing musicians and producers, but my main goal has always been to stay true to myself, keep an open mind, and continue to grow and evolve as an artist and songwriter
